Industrial Rags
Many of our industrial consumers face sheer challenges when it comes to industrial cleaning. Unrealistic increase of raw cotton has upset entire clothing production as a result new and stock lots of fabric rolls became expensive. The dust of the incline of cotton has though settled down but price hike remains unchanged.
Soon, world started looking for an alternate of new left over rolls of knitted fabric. Thanks to recycling of used clothing that made life easier and replaced bleached white knit rags with white t-shirts. This material becomes so popular that every industry started consuming t-shirt and polo shirt rags instead of new left over knitted rolls. Pundits, however, were taken by surprise when this trend too became challenging. Those white t-shirts which were available in any quantity had now become a challenge to source and become thrice as expensive. Cost of a kilo of new knit rolls was as low as $1.10 which crossed $2.90. Similarly, cost of recycled white t-shirt rags was as low as $0.50 which crossed $2.25/kg.
Question arises, why pay $2.25 just for a kilo of rags when you can actually buy for $0.55 a kilo? Quite understandable! It is insane to pay this much for rags. They say, when it gets tough, tough gets going. Same happened with this industry. Finally, mixed color rags from all sorts of used clothing are now widely used by industries thereby cutting their cost of maintenance to nearly 60%.
Recent trend of common use of rags made out of sweatshirts, polo shirts, round neck t-shirts, jogging suits, pajamas, fitted jersey bed sheets, terry cloth, laundry reject sheets, pillow cases, liner cloth rags, cotton cloth rags, denim jeans rags, twill and drill fabric rags, flannel etc have taken the driving seat. These are cut into pieces, cleaned from buttons, zippers, wires, hooks, buckles, studs and all other metal parts. Rags are cut to a minimum size of 35 cm x 35cm, fumigated and sterilized before shipping.
