Guide for household, General purpose rags and Industrial Rags.
Many a time buyers get confused as to which types of rags are best for cleaning oil, grease, tools and other liquids on the surface. Marketers make it even tougher for them to choose a proper one. I will try to identify the usage and accordingly suggest some of the common and yet economical in terms of pricing. This will help compare cost vs the use of rags. It is absolutely senseless to spend more on cleaning then the cost of the object itself.
First of all, we need to understand whether the cleaning is gentle, rigorous or ordinary. Also the method of cleaning and impact. It is also very important to know the object being cleaned. Let us first determine the areas of cleaning and accordingly recommend a product.
Household Cleaning: when it comes to household cleaning, we generalize this with floor cleaning, furniture cleaning, glass cleaning, kitchen top and kitchen utensils cleaning, dish washing and floor mopping. For this purposes, there are number of outlets worldwide from where small packs of rag bags can be bought and brought home for cleaning. Packets main contain these names; floor mops, kitchen dusters, wood polishing or yellow dusters, glass cloth, kitchen towels, hand towels, terry bar mops, cheese cloth, dish cloth, dish wipers, yacht mops, kentucky mops, spring clamp mops, brooms, liquid cleaning mops, micro fiber brushes and hundreds of other names to suit the household cleaning. It makes life so much easier for household cleaning where you can find any and all types of cleaning material according to your monthly budget. You can pick one and leave the other and can also use in combination. Most of these household cleaning material are reusable after numerous washes.
Restaurants and Catering Companies: This is rather challenging. There are so many factors to keep in mind before selecting a product. Hygienically treated, washed and sterilized, fit for human handling, free from chemical additives, free from hooks, wires, buttons, zippers, steel or any other metals parts to prevent expensive crockery and cutlery being damaged. When done from the selection of the material in accordance with the norms of IHRA (International Hotel and Resort Association) then second difficult decision is to match the budget. Nothing like it if both cost vs quality comes into right deal. This particular section has various sub-sections in it. Form example F&B has different uses, house keeping has different, kitchen uses different cleaning rags material while furniture and fixture needs different material. Toiletries are completely different from non-disposable to disposable ones. Also a great deal of importance is given to green products. These products are not common and hence not found at any superstores or outlets. A specialized industry caters the needs. They supply from glass cleaning to dish cleaning, stainless less steel cutlery cleaning, complete range of crockery cleaning, kitchen equipment cleaning, rooms cleaning, wood floor cleaning, bathroom cleaning, kitchen and restaurant cleaning, laundry cleaning, guest room cleaning, bar cleaning etc. Hotels can afford to pay little more and get specific product in order to avoid any complains from a guest.
Industrial cleaning rags: in the later part of this write-up we will be discussing more areas of cleaning but I need to focus more on Industrial cleaning as thousands of my readers insist on reading more on how to make the best use of their budget given the fact that cleaning material is getting more and more expensive whilst the cost of doing business is also increasing thereby leaving thin margins of profit. Budgets are allocated every quarter and ends up in deficit and workers complain of shortage of the material. I will try to refrain from taking names of any brands, however, if at all my readers can benefit from some of the most popular brands that can help minimize their losses and somewhat adds curtailment; I hope it wouldn’t harm any one’s interest.
General Purpose Rags : As it is evident from the name, these types of rags are used for general cleaning purpose. Oil and grease cleaning, hand cleaning, power tools cleaning, surface cleaning, dust and dirt cleaning, floor cleaning, deck cleaning, car’s engine room cleaning, ships cleaning, oil and gas installations and oil rigs cleaning, used at car garages, at worked sites, at construction sites, at steel industries, at marble industries, at dry docks, at service stations, gas stations, ship chandlers uses and you name it. Millions of tones of rags used for general cleaning purposes on daily basis. Generally it is not so important to look for colors, or specific size or even fiber as long as the rags can can clean the object so the term used for these types of rags is cotton and absorbent rags and good for cleaning oil, grease, liquids and hard surfaces. These rags are generally 100% recycled and made from used clothing such as t-shirts’ polo shorts, cotton shirts, fleece and sweat shirts, denim jeans, cotton twill and drill pants, ladies and gents garments and textile left overs. Recycling, be it anything, from pet bottles to textile to aluminium. Everything is being recycled. Why not, if things can be recycled and made to use they why waste resources. True when it comes to recycling but what a nightmare with textile recycling. It jhas almost become lost treasure. Hey guys don’t get frightened, I ain’t talking of anything very expensive, but, if situation persists, no sooner we will hear that old clothing has become a hidden treasure.
White t shirt rags, were most in demand which is dying due to non-availability but things haven’t stopped there but have started reusing these in Africa and far east. Oil absorbent rags are made from these used clothing such as t-shirt rags, fleece rags, denim jeans, polo shirt rags, basically all purpose rags. My clients in the paint industry using these rags ate now going crazy as to what to rags when rags becomenmore expensive as compared to a cane pint.
Cleaning and wiping cloths are now in big demand.
